Marketing The Dharma
Organization: BuddhistCreators
Course Description
"Marketing The Dharma" bridges the gap between ancient Buddhist wisdom and the modern digital landscape. Designed for monks, teachers, and practitioners, this course transforms you into a "Digital Bodhisattva"—someone who skillfully uses social media to alleviate suffering. You will learn to navigate the digital marketplace not for fame, but for service, utilizing "skillful means" to reach those who need the Dharma most. We cover the entire journey: from finding your authentic voice and validating your niche to mastering storytelling and leveraging AI for content creation. You will learn how to grow an audience ethically, understand the science of virality, and build sustainable support systems. Whether you are a digital novice or looking to refine your existing presence, this course provides a clear roadmap to share compassion and wisdom at scale. Join us to turn your online platform into a pure vessel for Dharma.
Course Overview
This 7-module course offers a comprehensive framework for sharing Buddhist teachings online effectively and ethically. Starting with "Inner Orientation," you will align your digital activity with the intention to serve. You will progress through practical strategies for audience validation, ensuring your content addresses real human struggles rather than just broadcasting information.
We delve into the art of storytelling to create emotional resonance and demystify social media algorithms. A dedicated module on AI demonstrates how to use technology as a diligent assistant for scripting, editing, and distribution. You will also explore the mechanics of ethical virality and the "1% rule" for continuous improvement. Finally, we address sustainability—reframing monetization as a modern form of alms—and developing authentic camera presence. Through reflective exercises and actionable strategies, this course empowers you to build a consistent, impactful digital Dharma practice.
Learning Outcomes
Define Your Digital Niche: Identify your unique role as a "Digital Bodhisattva" and select content formats (video, audio, text) that align with your personal strengths and monastic values.
Validate Audience Needs: Apply Personal, Market, and Consumer validation frameworks to ensure your teachings directly address the suffering and questions of your audience.
Master Dharma Storytelling: Utilize proven story arcs to make ancient teachings relatable, emotional, and memorable for a modern, lay audience.
Leverage AI for Efficiency: Use Artificial Intelligence tools to streamline scripting, repurposing, and distribution, allowing you to focus more on practice and less on technical tasks.
Achieve Ethical Virality: Implement strategies for content growth that focus on clarity and resonance ("clearer Dharma") rather than sensationalism ("louder Dharma").
Analyze & Refine: Interpret social media analytics as a feedback loop for growth, applying the "1% improvement" methodology to your content day by day.
Build Sustainability: Develop ethical monetization models (donations, courses, memberships) that function as modern alms to support your life and the propagation of the teachings.
