Course Description

This course was originally created by Esukhia and has been frequently updated and iterated. The A0 course is for absolute beginners and introduces essential vocabulary, simple greetings, numbers, and basic classroom language. Students develop early listening, speaking, and reading skills through supported practice, repetition, and real-life examples. By the end of the course, learners can understand very basic words, follow simple instructions, greet others, share basic personal information, and read familiar words with support. This level prepares students to confidently move on to CEFR A1.

Course Overview

The A0 course is designed for complete beginners and introduces the most essential parts of the language. Students learn basic vocabulary, simple greetings, numbers, classroom phrases, and very simple sentence patterns. Through guided practice, repetition, and real-life examples, learners build confidence in listening, speaking, and reading.
This foundation helps them smoothly progress to the CEFR A1 level, with improving pronunciation and basic everyday communication skills.

    Rinchen Dolma is from Shillong and holds a B.A. in Tibetan Studies from the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. She possesses over five years of dedicated experience teaching Tibetan as a second language to students at the foundational levels (A0 – A2+). Her teaching focuses on building a strong command across all four language skills—reading, listening, writing, and speaking—through a practical application approach that is carefully tailored to each student’s specific needs. Her primary goal is to foster confidence in using Tibetan.

    Kunga Choeyang

    Kunga Choeyang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tibetan Studies from the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. A native Tibetan speaker fluent in English, she has extensive experience teaching students at the A0 – A2+ level through the Sarah Online School. She is passionate about guiding learners to discover the richness of Tibetan language and culture and believes that “behind every great student is a special teacher.

    Chime Choedon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Tibetan Language and Buddhist Philosophy from the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. With over five years of experience, she teaches Tibetan bilingually (Tibetan/English) to international students at the Beginner (A1), Foundation (A2), and Intermediate (A2+) levels, along with instruction in Buddhist Philosophy. She believes that “teaching is not just about talking; it’s about sharing.
